Privacy policy
Lava Lamp Ledger collects as little as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no cookies set by this site. This page explains the few things that do happen when you visit.
When you browse
- Hosting. The site is served by Amazon Web Services (CloudFront and S3). Like any web host, AWS receives your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect against abuse. This site does not turn on visitor logging, so no record of your visit is kept by the site itself.
- Fonts. Pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles that.
- Remembered tab. The site saves which store tab you last looked at in your own browser's storage, so it can reopen there. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
When you report a problem
If you send a report through the Report a problem form, the site stores what you submit: the lamp and store it's about, the type of problem, your description, and your email address if you choose to give one. It also stores your IP address and browser type, which are used only to block spam and abuse.
Reports are kept in private, encrypted storage on AWS and are used only to correct the catalog and, if you gave an email address, to reply to you. When a report arrives, its contents are passed to a notification service (Pushover) so the site owner sees it promptly. Reports are not sold, shared, or used for marketing. They are deleted once they are no longer needed. To have a report deleted, send another report asking for that, using the same email address if you gave one.
Links to stores
Links to stores take you to their websites, which have their own privacy policies and may set cookies, including affiliate tracking cookies (see the affiliate disclosure). This site does not receive any personal information from stores about you or your purchases.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date below will change with it. Questions about privacy can be sent through the Report a problem link on any page; choose "Something else."
